The Jabu

The Jabu is the larger of our two and is suitable for size 4 to size 5.
In designing beautiful home spaces, I am always faced with the challenge of incorporating a comfortable, yet complimentary space for the most important inhabitants of the home, our pets. Rattan is my go-to, but with most animals, chewing happens, so I decided to use repurposed French oak red wine barrels, that I feel work well with the homes we design. 
Named after two of my special friends, who inhabit both my home and studio daily. 
 
The beautiful barrels hold the stains and scents of many a red wine they once held and add such character. Our beds have been sealed in a marine wood seal, adding both to the natural grain of the oak, but also allowing them to be left outside in all weather. The steal hoops are galvanised, but painted black, and have our beautiful brass monogram. We have breathing holes at the base of both the beds to allow for airflow and hosing down if need be. Comfort is key. Memory foam chips and high-density foam have been used for the mattress inner, and the washable covers are in beautiful corduroy colours that can work in any home. The beds are sturdy, yet light enough for a lady to move them around if need be.
 
Our special model is Maverick, an older gentleman, who has taken to the comfort of his Jabu bed which sits beautiful in his family’s TV room.
